Dispatch Operative – ESG Drysdales
Near Cockburnspath, Scottish Borders
ESG Drysdales is currently seeking reliable and motivated Dispatch Operatives to join our established on-site team near Cockburnspath in the Scottish Borders. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced dispatch environment, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and being part of a supportive team.
The Role
- Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off (flexibility required Monday–Sunday)
- Start time: 6:00am, with finish times varying depending on lorry schedules
- Salary: £27,649 per annum
- Holidays: 21.5 days per year
Key Responsibilities
- Loading goods onto collection vehicles using a counterbalance forklift and pallet trucks
- Picking and packing orders in the loading bay ready for dispatch
- Checking products against delivery notes to ensure accuracy
- Assisting Dispatch Supervisors as required
- Manual handling, including heavy lifting, where necessary
Please note: this is not solely a forklift role and includes significant manual work.
About You
- Counterbalance forklift experience is beneficial but not essential
- Refresher training available for expired licenses
- Full training provided for suitable candidates with no previous forklift experience
- Physically capable of manual handling and heavy lifting
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Flexible with working hours
- Own transport is essential, as the site is not accessible by public transport
